HAGGART PLUMBERS MUSSELBURGH

The historic “Honest Toun” town of Musselburgh is located in East Lothian and only 6 miles to Edinburgh. It was once a small fishing town and is home to the Musselburgh racecourse which is the oldest racecourse in all Scotland. Speaking of the oldest, Musselburgh is also the home to the oldest golf club in the world! And, did we mention the amazing architecture around the town of Musselburgh? This town dates back to the 1500s and is steeped in history.

Down at Musselburgh waterfront, you can find Fisherrow Harbour which was built around 1592. In addition to the plethora of boats, you can find a small board there that will explain the history of the harbour which, on low tide, you can see the boats stuck in the mud. Other places of interest include St. Michae’s Parish Church and kirkyard, which seems to go on forever. The views here are amazing and certainly worth a stop.
